Medical Receptionist
We are in need of a full-time medical receptionist with a great attitude. As the first face of the practice, it is essential that our receptionist be warm, friendly, patient and efficient.
Duties:
- Welcome patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Schedule appointments with efficiency and skill to optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; remind provider of service delays.
- Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answer patients' questions; maintain the reception area.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, insurance and financial information; recording and collecting patient charges;
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Help with retail sales by learning about and advising patients on the skin care products carried in the office;
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report needed changes.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- MUST BE TECH SAVVY. We are an entirely electronic medical office. Not only must you be able to type quickly and accurately, you must be comfortable with computers, iPads, and learning new software.
- MUST be able to handle high-stress situations while multi-tasking. Example: can you answer the phone, check in a patient, enter information into the system, take a payment, and answer a patient's questions at the same time?
- Professional telephone and customer service skills, able to handle difficult patients with an understanding smile.
- MUST have great time management, organizational skills, and incredible attention to detail
- MUST be flexible, even-keeled, and have a great sense of humor. We are very fun and very snarky. If you are easily offended or do not understand sarcasm, this is not the office for you.
- Understanding of procedure codes and medical billing a plus.
